December 2006 - Tobago diver record!
Speyside
was the host to the largest group of divers Tobago has seen to date! With special
thanks to Oonas Divers and Dive WorldWide, we were chosen as the only dive centre
on the island for this dive adventure. For one week our team
was at full stretch to handle in excess of 40 divers who had all come to see the marine
wonder that is Speyside. Not only were we running dives for the experienced divers, but we were
also training both PADI Open Water and PADI Advanced courses simultaneously.
I would like to especially thank the "GODS" from Ireland who made the weeks'
work
a very enjoyable occassion for all.

March 2006 - School Dive Trip
At the very end of March 2006, we were visited by 13 lads and three staff from Caldicott School in Buckinghamshire, UK. Most of the young men hadn?t dived before, and it was the start of a week long adventure, which saw each of them attain the level of Junior Open Water Diver. For an entire week the boys ate, slept and breathed scuba information, with the exception of a game of soccer with the Speyside local boys on their final day.
It was hard work for them, but they rose to the challenge marvellously, and were incredibly well behaved, polite lads, who were a credit to their families and staff at the school. We hope, one day, to have them back for their advanced courses and beyond! And, boys? any time you want a re-match, you know where to find us!

January 2006 - We're on TV
"A
Place in the Sun" -
Kate Burnell-Freeman married hubby Martin in the Caribbean and ever since they?ve
dreamed of relocating to this glorious part of the world and setting up in business.
With some earlier property development success providing an ample budget,
Kate brings best mate Jackie Hamblen to the palm-fringed island of Tobago to accompany
her on her house hunt. Leading the expedition into the Tobagan property market is
presenter Jasmine Harman who tracks down some mouth-watering trophy properties:
a duplex with sea views, a gorgeous house with separate rentable apartment and a
villa with a 6,000 foot Caribbean garden.
That was the plan, but they also wanted to take a look at our Dive Centre, and have
a chat with Lisa. She's now famous, and I can't get her to work anymore,
with people calling or emailing all the time asking about her! Damn, I should have
been there that day, instead of diving! Fred Aidroos, the director, came to
learn his Rescue Course, and spend some time with us. He made extra special
mention of TDE in the show, for which we are very grateful. We look forward to
seeing him and the team, at some time in the future.
